It plugs in to change artwork and to recharge. Once the image is formed it stays displayed with no power: that is e-ink bistability. The display runs on battery between two changes.

Yes. At launch the display is sold together with the Y-Ink app (€20/month): it is what lets you change artworks, keep favourites and generate AI pieces. The display ships with the artwork chosen at checkout.
The app shows Yaniv Edery's catalogue and your pieces generated in his style. Personal image import is not offered: Y-Ink is an artist's display, not a photo frame.
