« I'm not trying to be the best, I'm trying to be unique. »

A path of his own
Yaniv Edery chose to carve his own path. With no art school behind him, he built his technique through years of experiment, with one ambition: a style you recognise at first glance.
His first standout works caught the market's eye in 2014. In 2017 he exhibited at Art Basel Miami. In 2020, the “Lion in a suit” opened the series of animal portraits that has become his signature.
His work is shown in the United States, Austria, Germany, Italy, Monaco and France, and has joined private collections.

Matter and light
His material of choice is epoxy resin. Layer by layer, he shapes the relief and traps pigments, glitter and crystals: the reflections change with the viewing angle.
He sets mirrors and polished surfaces into the work so the room appears in it, and sometimes uses backlighting: the painting is not just looked at, it responds to its surroundings.

Why Y-Ink
The “Y” in Y-Ink is his initial. It replaces the “E” of e-ink: a standard technology becomes an artist's technology. More than 500,000 colours, no light emitted, and his whole collection in a single display.
